My house from 1970, windows and doors all original and terrible, slightly under insulated but fixing that soon, family home all day so set at 72-74F - my biggest summer bill is typically about $250-$300.

The OP should have asked for people’s electricity _consumption_ (in kWh). Dollars paid on a monthly bill are meaningless without also knowing the billing rate (¢/kWh), which can vary by an order of magnitude between different plans and months.

And if you REALLY want to do a regression on the variables that affect a residential electric bill, all the data you could want is already here: https://www.eia.gov/consumption/residential/index.php

Default Bills

1. 1993

2. Two story

3. 2400 sqft

4. Last bill was $120 through Reliant for summer
Looking back at our average, we usually were between $70 - $80 during other times and our most was like $160 through the last winter.

5. Usually have the thermostat off unless we need heat or cooling. The wife and I can usually stand indoor temps of about 80 degrees before we start cooking or the kids start sweating..
