If yes, please share your opinion with us. Advantages/disadvantages? Tuition? Is the area safe? Anything useful would be appreciated.

While I don't have any personal experience with North Hills (charter school), I am aware that it has an excellent reputation in the area, and was ranked 13th among the best public high schools in the nation (Newsweek 2007) as well as has always received TEA's rank of Exemplary or Recognized since it began in '96.

What I can address is your concern over safety in the area - excellent! The school is located in the Las Colinas (northern) area of Irving (zip 75039) and is an excellent area to live, shop, eat or go to school in.

You might want to contact the school directly for admission requirements/costs. Here's the website for info on tuition: http://www.northhillsprep.org/home.asp (broken link). There are also several reviews of this school on the net you can access just by googling. In addition, here are some other previous threads/posts from the forum:

North Hills is a charter school and is free as it state funded. I've had students leave NH for a variety of reasons. You have to apply for NH's. We have less and less kids applying because parents have found our public school system to be quality in comparison. (CFBISD: Las Colinas Elem. IB program, Freeman Elementary Exemplary, Ranchview HS will have an IB program next school year, Bush Middle School will be an IB school next school year, LaVillita Elem. will be opened in the fall and is projected to be a small school which in my opinion will allow for some quality education as well)

The Newsweek ranking of schools - which is where North Hills was ranked quite high - ranks schools based on the number of AP tests taken (taken, not passed) compared to the total number of kids. That's it.

When I was in public school I was in GT and everything, and i skipped a few grades, but everyone tells me its really hard, and I cant find any other suitable schools in Irving TX, so if antone has any info on North Hills or other schools in Irving , please reply!

Haven't you already missed the application deadline for next year at North Hills?

Unfortunately the deadline has passed now and the lottery for next year is not held until towards the end of this year. There are waiting lists for most of the grades but you should call or email them to see if there is an opening in the grade you require, there may be openings in the high school. Good Luck.

I think you mean 75063... I'm not sure, most of Irving except 75063 is served by IISD, 75063 is served by CFBISD and I believe CISD too.
Most development is also happening is 75063...
