These are used, vintage items from my mother's home that show normal wear and tear. The solid Maple pinecone design bed frame that has no wear and tear has a vertical separation crack on each post from shrinkage but all parts are firmly intact. There is also a solid maple upright piano with a small stain on the top. It's gut-wrenching calling around and emailing and waiting for answers. 1 snooty resale shop for battered women in Oak Lawn won't take these items at all, and I know my mother would have wanted these pieces to benefit the cause for abused women! I can't pay for their storage anymore because I am recently widowed and over 50. Everything is professionally wrapped up in storage at a moving company, and I would really like a solution to this ongoing problem.

There’s too much unwanted old furniture that is out of style, so most people won’t take it. Try Craigslist and see if anyone will take it. Otherwise you’ll have to dispose of it.

https://www.beethovenfoundation.com/donatepiano

https://pianosforeducation.org/donate-piano

http://www.danthepianoman.com/charit...our-piano.html

https://pianoadoption.com

(IDK if this last one accepts donations or if you can just list it.)

Offer your piano and/or furniture for free on Craigslist. It is simple to do.

Do you have any relatives who would want any of it?

I am sorry you are going through this. It is very difficult to deal with a loved one's possessions.

Try The Family Place on Forest Lane & Cox. Goodwill on NW Highway near Bachman Lake. Salvation Army on Harry Hines. Another option is the International Rescue Committee (www.rescue.org). They assist new immigrants with housing, furniture, kitchen items, etc. They will NOT take beds (frames or mattresses). Office on the Greenville Ave, south of NW Hwy. You might be able to arrange pickup with either Goodwill or IRC.

All of this. I know Salvation Army does pick up. I understand how frustrating this is. If you can get it there, The Family Place is where I would donate.
