Looking to relocate to the Dallas area and enroll children in a Spanish immersion program at a public elementary school where the school system is good enough to continue through high school. We may initially rent but then housing pricing within budget up to $700k. Would love some suggestions within those confines. Thanks

I´m not a local, but some locals may not know where to find dual language programs:

Once you locate some, maybe then people could fill you in a little better with how select ISDs and neighborhoods are. Good luck.

This link lists Hicks Elementary and Wellington Elementary as offering Spanish immersion programs. Of the two, I think Wellington has the better feeder pattern. And $700k should be plenty in Flower Mound. Where will your jobs be located though? The DFW metroplex is so big and congested that you really need to narrow your search depending on where your job is.

There are many data points missing:

1. Ages of children. Some districts only take incoming students in kindergarten, some will take older with assessment.

2. You've supplied zero idea of where commute destinations would be. DFW is massive - if you're coming form the east coast, you literally have no scope for how spread out it is.

3. 700K for what? a 2BR condo in Park Cities? a 6BR megalith on a 65x100 lot in Prosper? 3 acres with a rambling ranch?

While not full immersion, Dallas ISD offers two-way dual language at many of their campuses. Instruction is about 50% in each language. Classes include students who are native English and native Spanish speakers (ideally 50/50, but not always). Students typically enter the program in PK, K, or 1st grade, but bilingual students can sometimes enter later if space is available.

You can find more info at this link:

https://www.dallasisd.org/duallanguage

There are dual language programs at elementary, middle, and high schools within Dallas ISD. For example, in the Woodrow Wilson High School feeder pattern, dual language is listed as being offered at all elementary schools (Lakewood, Mockingbird, Geneva Heights, Lipscomb, Mount Auburn), the middle school (Long), and high school (Woodrow). The elementary programs are typically the most well-developed. There is also a new dual language magnet school (test required for admission) for grades 4 - 8 in Pleasant Grove, which appears to be off to an outstanding start:

Where is the job? You'll need to know that first.

You can add Coppell ISD to the list though

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD also offers dual-language at several elementary schools.

Doesn't Rosemont Elementary have a dual-language program? I did not see it listed on that website. Anyone know why?

Yes, it does. My daughter’s currently enrolled in it.

Default Dual Language

Thank you. Budget $700k for a 4BR plus home. Commute not relevant because we work from home though easy airport access is important. What is the reputation of the dual language in Colleyville? I hear Coppell is a strong program. Thanks
