Allen ISD named district of distinction and Congressman Van Taylor Recognizes Allen ISD on House Floor.
Allen ISD was one of thirty-four school districts in the entire nation to receive this prestigious award. The brand-new STEAM Center was the highlight of their award. Students of all ages in Allen have been able to receive a hands-on learning experience that is inspiring them to study more science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. It's exciting times in Allen.

Congratulations! It’s a relatively new magazine and and if any district want to apply, it’s easy if they meet community’s needs. Use this link. They only had 34 entries and all 34 were awarded distinction.

You fail to understand the point, Unfair - trying to downplay everything or anything about other districts and post even if someone "fa-ts" in Plano. It's a news to you and great for you. You even downplayed Money Magazines No# 2 ranking for best places to live. There are host of other websites, rankings. The point is the improvements district is making by investing in facilities like STEAM center for the benefit of the community. West Plano is great - but you fail to understand good things happen at other places, people do have choices and preferences and constantly post negative news about other places.

Good to know we have schools having a STEM center. Great initiative, Allen ISD!

Flower Mound high school was also recognized by the House for their 2019 Vex World Robotics Skills Championship. They have a very strong Robotics Club and other STEM activities.

Its time, ISD's should allocate/increase STEM funding. More recently, I've started voting for ISD candidates that promotes STEM. Many of the STEM activities are run through parents volunteers and funding events. They lack funding.

Not trying to stir up a discussion, as a country, we are still ahead in innovation/venture capital, but we'll soon lag behind, if we don't focus on STEM.

STEM is getting lot of attention in schools and colleges, every district has new STEM centers so good improvement on STEM side. That’s a positive step for sure. As a nation we do need to maintain a healthy balance, every field from STEM to art and history needs resources and opportunities as creativity, leadership and critical thinking skills are as or more needed for future, automatization is going to take care of basic tech sector jobs anyways.
