Not sure about those. Trader Joe's does it, when people leave, they let people in.

Central market let's all in, at least as of couple of days ago.

Haven't seen this reported yet. Tarrant County has unsurprisingly extended the shelter in place order until April 30. All gatherings of more than one person are banned.

I'm not trolling, but where are we now...basically we have admitted people are going to get this and we need to keep the hospitals for the people that need it. I did not want to seem like I don't care, but this is a virus we are going to have to deal with years on out. I just believe the fact when it was here and we thought we could control it and know you had it, we were being naive. It is very difficult when some have it and have minimal to moderate symptoms (which many thought was the flu), meanwhile others suffer awfully. It is easy for us to assume we have control over this stuff, but we don't.

It is interesting now that I talk to people that they think they may have had this virus (me included) and we just don't know. There is no current good test for those that had it and survived. I think the people that have had this are probably 4 times the current confirmed rate. I just think some spreading panic was just as bad as the disease.

I think we eventually find people with the "flu" had this back in December and January and we had no clue. So sorry for having a different opinion. Blame what or who you want but this was coming here whether people liked it or not. Let us protect the people that need the hospital and the healthy stay home.

I admit this is worse than I expected and I never wish anyone the worse and for many it won't be good. Let us be at least realistic instead of acting like we live in a bubble. I have donated money, helped local places, so don't ridicule me. I am trying and know physically, mentally, and emotionally that this is going to be the most difficult period in 100 years or so. I am doing my part so not to thing I am infecting anyone if I am infected. Who knows, we are all guessing at this point and hoping for the best.

They just approved a 15min antibody blood test 2-3 days ago... But who knows when that will translate to being able to get one. My guess is that we're still a month or so away from that, maybe more.

Australia, Portugal, Taiwan, and Japan are also doing well. Portugal is testing 8,470 per million.

The key was ramping up their testing capacity, so that they could do contact tracing with results. A suspected case can have results within 48 hours. They can get out and start working, once their results come back negative.

USA was so late to the party that we can't do contact tracing. If testing capacity ramps up to do contact tracing, then everybody can go back to work.

Yes, I think this is the answer moving forward after the shut downs. We have to get our case numbers low enough and our testing capacity high enough, though. Basically, we need to reset and have high testing capacity. We can then take an approach similar to what South Korea did initially.

Agreed. I'll leave it at that because this is a DFW forum and I don't want to turn this into a political post.

NY Gov Cuomo claims in the press conference today that NY death rate decreasing for the first time. (It's too early to confirm that it is going downhill from here, in my opinion. We need to see a decreasing death rate at least for a week.)

Italy and Spain death rates are decreasing as well.

Grocery Update:

Did my 10 days worth of shopping today.

Walmart was limiting number of people in the store but I was able to go right in. It was actually a much better shopping experience compared to normal. The majority of shoppers were wearing masks and were really conscientious about not getting too close to each other.

No TP or paper towels. There were wipes. Low on eggs and pasta but everything else was pretty much available.

Kroger was not limiting shoppers. They did have someone cleaning off the carts. Maybe about 1/4 of the shoppers were wearing masks. Some people were carrying on like everything was normal, getting their iced Starbucks coffees and not bothering to distance themselves.

No TP/paper towels, cereal was very picked over, limited pasta, limited cake mixes, everything else was pretty normal.
