I’ve bought and sold about a dozen houses in the DFW area. A couple of times we discovered piers under slabs but have no knowledge if the builder installed at time of construction. Not all that terribly uncommon for new slabs to be stabilized by piers — tho not terribly common either. When we sold them (investment properties) we told the Realtor that we weren’t aware of any foundation work but learned there were piers “on the west side” and I think the realtor did make those notes on the MLS reports (not sure) but it didn’t effect sales of the houses. One house, in North Arlington is built on a slope and has piers under the slab along a side where the land slopes and this was certainly installed at construction.

My old neighborhood in Irving had some new homes being built around 2002-2006 and they were all slabs with piers in various corners. Our house there was built in 1988 (on piers) and we’d often walk by the those houses under construction back then on the few lots left and observe all of them had combinations of slabs and small piers. Its possible that’s just the way your house was constructed and it was not a foundation repair.
