Has anyone built house in hollyhock community in Frisco recently or has inside information on what kind of home owners we can expect? I hear there are quite number of buyers who bought it only to rent or Air BNB once the PGA is complete. Also, Golf tend to be more popular among Rich old people or retired people. Since it’s close to PGA i am curious to know the kind of home owners there ? Lastly, how are the new schools going to ?

We live in LA, but visited Hollyhock about a month ago. We're Asian (Korean) and was told that the Hollyhock Community is pretty diverse, which was something that we wanted. I don't believe all of the golf courses are built out yet, but there is some speculation buying as there is some hype around the new PGA HQ. I also believe that there will be a PGA event held there on a regular basis--but I'm not 100% certain.

Most of the homes we saw were 2 story plans from Landon Homes and Trophy Signature. We loved the Landon Bentley plan. We're out of towners, but the area seems to be popular with families, as the schools are in Frisco ISD. They're building some new schools (elementary, middle, high) I believe in the community itself, which was a positive things for us--having a toddler.

Overall, really nice neighborhood, although if you're closer to 380 in Hollyhock, the traffic noise is noticeable.

I did stop by at Hollyhock Landon homes...... Here's my opinion on the area:

-> No PGA till 2025
-> Road from Panther Creek Pkwy to Hollyhock entrance converts to one lane each way. So expect lot of traffic issue during rush hour till your reach Eldorado Pkwy. Traffic in Frisco is only getting worse every year since we moved in 2014. It's off of Teel and does not feed to 121, so you may need to use legacy or main to reach 121. From commute prospective going south every day, this place has too many issues. Even when they expand the road, it may take few years to see 2 or 3 lane road.
-> Landon is popular among south asians and I saw tones of south asian at their model home. Just make sure you look up their street address on county appraisal district and understand the diversity.

We kinda liked Landon's Eastwood floor plan, but decided to move on due to above reasons.
