Waxahachie, Venus, Rendon, Joshua, Southern Midlothian, Keene, Lillian (area), maybe Maypearl. Closest larger hospitals: Baylor Scott & White (Waxahachie), Methodist Midlothian, Texas Health (Mansfield/Venus), Methodist Mansfield, Texas Health Huguley (Burleson) and Texas Health Harris (Cleburne). The further south that you go the cheaper properties become, but you'll have a harder time finding any properties for sale.

I also thought about Cleburne. Not a bad choice either.

Burleson and Mansfield are already engulfed in DFW sprawl (no longer rural), while Waxahachie and Midlothian will be there soon when these 2 massive developments are built out:

You may want to consider Tyler, which is about two hours (at the most) east of Dallas. Tyler is the medical hub of NE Texas and has several world class hospitals and research centers here. It would be more affordable than DFW too.
