Seems pretty straightforward to me - they're using COVID relief dollars to improve the health of their residents. Even if it's only temporary, getting people access to basic healthcare (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc) is a good thing and in the spirit of what these funds should be used for.

Of course, all other developed countries long ago realized that it's much more cost effective to implement national healthcare but until that happens here we'll have to do these little baby steps.

If we can spend some part of our taxes on that instead of outrageous government salaries, military and wars, than it's taxpayer money well spent. Or at least better spent, in my opinion.
Get those with running nose or broken fingernail quick assessment and send them home. Yes, from a doctor in a box. ER is for EMERGENCY!

I agree with the bold above. Unfortunately this is another program that is not putting limits on who it is provided to. Those that do not need it due to a higher income, will take it away from those that do need it but can't even afford Doc In A Box.

I do not see where the race composition of Ferris has any bearing on this issue. The other statistics you provided do have bearing on the issue.

But they won't. They'll spend money on this in addition to the usual government bloat and waste, and manufacture more government bloat and waste.

A year from now when they run out of other people's money, they'll raise city taxes.

A modest step, but important nonetheless. Healthcare is a human right and a government responsibility. Ferris has taken a step into the mid-twentieth century.

False.

Show me where in the Constitution that guarantees you a right to healthcare at the government's expense.

It's in the 86th Amendment right after all the "Government Free Stuff" amendments starting at the 36th amendment.

So sad how many conflate the constitution with supposed "Government Free Stuff" rights.
