Really depends on your preferred style. If you are buying major pieces (like a primary sofa or primary living area seating), I strongly suggest sticking with quality, Made in the USA or well-made vintage pieces.

One of my favorites in the area is Room & Board. They are based in Minnesota and construct their furniture in the US (the pieces I have from them have been made in VA, NC, and MN).

I suggest you drive down to Knox, park your car, and visit all the furniture stores in the area. My wife buys our furniture and I know she’s recently ordered from One Kings Lane and Kathy Kuo Home and we’ve been very pleased. She also works with someone at the market center sometimes.

I've been very happy with the sofa we bought in 2019 at Room and Board. It's well-made and has held up well. I wanted some side chairs from Ethan Allen but they were too expensive so I bought some similar side chairs at a second-hand furniture store that had a well-made frame but ugly upholstery and had them recovered. Both chairs, including the recovering, cost less than one chair at Ethan Allen and they look gorgeous. It's a trick I've used more than once. I found some really well-made woven chairs at an import store that were similar to those at a much more expensive store and had new cushions made since the ones they came with looked cheap. Both chairs with new cushions were cheaper than one chair at the more expensive store. If you want to have expensive, custom decor for less building that relationship with a good upholsterer can make that happen.

I second the closeout second floor of Weir's. I bought a gorgeous onyx-topped coffee table there. Don't buy from Anthropologie though. I bought a statement couch from there for my library. I've gotten tons of compliments on it but the upholstery is coming loose in a few places even though we rarely sit on it.

What’s the problem with made outside US?

We prefer American style not something like IKEA.
We exclude too expensive brands.
