Months after the reveal that Universal Parks & Resorts would open a kids-focused theme park in Frisco, another company has announced a family theme park in North Texas, this one featuring a familiar cartoon pig.

Merlin Entertainments, the company behind the Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine, said Tuesday it will open North America’s second Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills in 2024. The park will be next to the NRH20 Family Water Park along Boulevard 26.

The company said the new standalone theme park will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, themed playscapes and shows based on locations from the Peppa Pig brand. Merlin has a licensing agreement with Hasbro to build Peppa Pig-themed attractions targeted at the preschool market.

It's refreshing to hear this but almost expected....DFW is turning into the Megacity that was predicted and projected.

Regions as large as DFW currently is and growing to be(10,000,000 by 2030) will require MORE and BETTER amenities as it grows to accommodate the large influx of transplants that come from areas where entertainment on this level is considered the "Norm" and expected.

This is just the Tip of the Iceberg........

If you think about the stereotypes Dallas has garnered over the past decades...One could easily say that they are over-exaggerated or over the top....But if you look at the big picture those stereotypes are really coming from the vision that Dallas Leaders have had for it since it was established as a city.

Those early leaders created the "Can-Do" spirit realizing that:

*Dallas is fairly flat....So no scenic views of natural beauty and terrain to brag about or lure tourists to the area to boost the economy.(Dallas will have to be a flashy city...Put lights on everything)

*The Trinity River is the closest and only natural body of water.... So no beaches or coastline resorts to brag on or lure tourists to the area to boost the economy.(Build Huge man-made lakes for needed water and make them big enough for water recreation or future resorts.)

*That Dallas is one of the most In-Land metros in the U.S. and is basically one of the most inaccessible....Which would never lure tourists to the area to boost the economy.(Get a railroad company or two and lure them through Dallas...oh and build one of the largest airports in the world so there would be no excuses for accessibility.)

"Dallas is so Pretentious!!"...

Ok...... The pretentious stereotype is probably one of the most popular amongst newcomers and visitors.....It came from the "Act as if we've already achieved the goals for the city until we achieve the goals for the city.".....

That's the mentality that was engrained into each new leader as the torch was passed. And each leader embraces the mentality eagerly with the confidence of the vision coming to fruition.

NOW....we are ACTUALLY achieving the goals that we acted like were already achieved decades ago.

Kinda like a toddler walking around in his dad's shoes or her mom's heels until they grew up enough to actually fit the shoes......

Merlin operates more than 140 attractions, 23 hotels and six holiday villages in 25 countries across four continents.

The new Peppa Pig attraction is about 45 miles west of where Universal intends to build a new kid-friendly theme park. Unlike the Universal project, which has had some opposition from surrounding neighborhoods, Trevino said the feedback for Peppa Pig has been positive.

The Peppa Pig theme park is a similar use for the property as the park that came before it and is in a commercial corridor with the water park along with shopping centers, restaurants and Tarrant County College’s northeast campus across the street.

“Everybody’s just thrilled about it,” Trevino said. “It’ll complement that area dramatically.”

So they are going to have the Peppa Pig Experience in Grapevine Mills and a Peppa Pig theme park practically next door? I guess that area really loves Peppa Pig, or maybe is projected as the only area affordable enough for the adults to have children in the future? In any case, the spacing is kind of weird.

Do you actually think the mall attraction would deter visitation to the park? If anything the mall exhibit warmed up the anticipation for the ACTUAL THEME PARK. Having both will be the smartest Idea.

Parents could then wave the anticipation to visit the park by stopping by the mall instead of dealing with the prep and hassle of the big park...A QUICK experience instead of an all-day one when time is the issue......Peppa Pig wins in both situations.

I think both locations would pull from the same sphere, which is not the entirety of the DFW metroplex, specifically missing the south and far east portions. The mall thing would be easier to move to another mall to maximize the number of potential customers.

People will travel to ANOTHER STATE for a special experience...So it really doesn't matter where they put it..People will drive to it for their kids to experience something special.

Tour of the Peppa Pig Theme park in Florida. I’m pretty sure we’re getting a replica of this or something very similar to it.
