Here's the HUD website that allows you to find Section 8 property they have listed by state, city or county or zip code, type, size, etc.

Or Plano and Far FAR North Dallas. You will need to call the Dallas Housing Authority. A lot of the older complexes that were South of Dallas are being torn down so they are not open for tenants. They have a push to go North right now going on. Look around McCallum Blvd off of Coit about 2 blocks south of Hwy 190. TONS of gov't subsidized housing apartments right there.

I looked at the website posted on here to check if there were any in Plano. According the that site there are only Old folks homes and one disabled place there that are gov subsidized. So Plano is out of the question. This is the website...

Yep, there a BIG stink over it as well and the HOA's were raising holy heck. Yet, the DHA won and there is Section 8 and public housing IN Plano.

This site might be of more help to you for Plano - seems they have a number of programs available which aren't limited to apartments as the above link is:

Plano Housing Authority - Programs (http://www.planoha.org/PHA_Programs.html - broken link)
