My hubbie is considering a job at the Presby Plano Hospital on W Parker Rd and we're trying to figure out what area we would like to live by. We are currently living in Keller with a beautiful almost new home so it is going to be hard for us to move into an older home. Are there any good new communities that are being built by reputable builders for around $400k +- within say a 12 mile radius of the hospital? If there are no new homes within that radius I'd be willing to consider something 5-6 years old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there are new homes in your price range. Try the far east side of Plano and in the area of Murphy. Up towards Allen you will also find new homes in your price range but on smaller lots than those in Murphy.

Legacy Drive, either side of 121 has nice neighborhoods with pretty updated/new homes.

I don't know what they go for, over 250,000 for sure though maybe around 400,000.

Far east side of Plano may be to far to the hospital for your tastes.

Not really. They would be going opposite of the heavy traffic out of the more populated areas of Frisco. The traffic out of far east Plano is pretty minimal as the lots are MUCH larger and less density. I'm in Garland right off of 190 in Firewheel. On Friday in rush hour traffic from Stonebriar Mall in Frisco I was door to door in 30 minutes exactly. That is a much longer drive than Far East Plano to the hospital mentioned.

Thanks for your insight. It really helps hearing this kind of info from people who already live there like you. We live 18 miles from where my husband currently works and it takes anywhere between 35-55 mins. I really don't want to go back to that situation if need be.

Since you live in a newer home in Keller, let me suggest "Castle Hills" It's about 4 miles west of the Tollway and Park. The community is awesome. I would say it's even better than Hidden Lakes and some higher end communities in Keller. Lots of ponds, the big one you can fish in, golf course, several pools, local shops, etc...

There are many threads on this site that discuss Castle Hills and this one even has pictures. Go to page 3 to view them.

That is not bad at all. I do love the road system in the Dallas/Plano/Frisco etc area!

I have been in San Antonio for three years and miss getting across town so easily! The roads here were built by shortsighted engineers!
