I'd like to identify the twenty-five (25) largest employers in Addison and also, in Carrollton, TX, please. Any ideas on where to get this info?

The local Chamber of Commerce for each city should have it.

D Magazine sometimes has these kinds of lists but it will be all inclusive for the entire Dallas Metroplex and not just those 2 cities.

For Carrollton I'd say the largest is most likely the city itself and then the school district.

Another source I found was the North Central Texas Council of Governments. They have a demographic profile of each city with a list of its major employers. I am unsure of how current the information is, but you might want to check it out.

I'm going to have fun with that list. I will have to check it out. See if any of the companies that were big back when I was working and living there are still hanging on. I know a few are gone: Otis, Motorola, Forney Eng, Word of Faith (Farmers Branch), Ford, Chrysler, gosh, who all was out by Standridge Stadium back then.... I can see them but can't think of the names......the paper plant..... I gotta get my brain to thinking here.

---------

Looking at list and seeing who is still around from then:
Halliburton (known as Otis back then)
General Alum.
Ford
Optek (had a different name back then???)
Hilite Intl

Addison........ wow, none of the old biggies from back then are on that list.

177. Axcess International, Inc., Carrollton
192. DealerAdvance, Inc., Addison
199. American Enterprise Development, Carrollton

This Dallas Morning News Business website has the most current comprehensive DFW company info available, IMO:

DFW Corporations - DMN Business Scorecard (http://www.dallasnews.com/cgi-bin/2008/scorecard_tables.cgi - broken link)

You may select company info from a given list of companies by year (2003-2008), or get several different charts of all companies by different catagories, such as biggest DFW corporate employers, private companies, etc., plus companies on the fast track, executive compensation, etc.

The chart info is quite detailed... for example, if you were to select the chart for the DFW biggest corporate employers, it lists the rank, last year's rank, description of business, # of employees, type of retirement savings plan, whether they have retiree health benefits or not, the company hdq location, website and the full street/city/state/zip address.
