I will be relocating to the area in two months and need some input on areas. Some people have mentioned bridlewood or wellington. I am looking for an area with a lot of children (I have a 5 yr old and newborn) for my sons t play with. Any recommendations on good areas within shopping and easy commute to Fort Worth and Downtown Dallas? Much appreciated.

I am also looking into FM area and new to Dallas/ FM so just sharing my thoughts whatever i experienced so far.Not sure what your budget is the 2 subdivision you mentioned are nearest to FM 1171 which goes to 35W S. Not much traffic on these roads so you can reach FW fairly faster than taking 121/183. Although both these sub divisions are across each other (on 1171) they go to different schools- so check the schools. Both neighbourhoods are kids & family friendly. My personal preference will be for Wellington subdivision due to the FMHS.
Downtown Dallas - I am not sure how the traffic is..some old forum posts mention about trouble getting out of FM and i am not sure if any of the internal roads were widened so i suggest you actually take the route from any of these subdivisions.

Ft. Worth isn't too bad, but Flower Mound to downtown Dallas will be a beating.

Bridlewood is very nice. You might also look at some of the cities right by Flower Mound - Double Oak, Lantana, etc. I live in Lantana and am very pleased with it. The entire Flower Mound area is very kid-friendly, and very nice.

Shopping is easy, and nice, with The Shops of Highland Village only about 5 mnutes away from central Flower Mound.
