Black family with 3 kids, 2 in highschool, one in elem-mid school. I need recommendations on good schools with some diversity. We are currently in a fabulous district academically. The racial breakdown is, 70% white, 30% other. I would like to be in a similiar district. I also dont want to the commute to be unbearable, 40 minutes or less would be preferable. It seems that Dallas area has a lot of great school districts but I hear the traffic is awful. So I am open to suggestions, as this is my number one concern when we move. I would prefer public neighborhood, but I am not opposed to private if it is reasonably priced.
Also I have a child that might would be a candidate for the Talented and gifted school, but what are the entrance requirements? Where do you have to live to attend? If it is in the city proper, where are the decent neighborhoods?

Googling for "Grandview", I found that the town is in Johnson County. That is not even close to Dallas. If that's where you moving to, then you'll have better luck reposting this question to the Texas forum. I'm sure someone from Johnson County will be able to help you.

If "Grandview" is a neighborhood name they told you, can you provide more specifics - company name, street intersection?
