Hi All,

I understand according to the TOS we can't post recommendations for real estate agents, but if you had a good experience with a Buyer's agent for Plano/McKinney/Allen I would really appreciate it if you could DM me. I am trying to schedule a trip down to look for houses/areas in the $300-$400 range in a couple of weeks and would like to contact some agents before hand.

And as always, if you have any areas you LOVE that you think I would like, please let me know. I work out of my house, so commuting is not an issue - schools, price and ammenities are the issues.....

Thanks in advance!

Check your DM. I can give you the name of a good agent that serves that area. Best of luck with your move.

Each of those areas have a different "feel" yet all of them have nice areas. It will depend somewhat on where you will be working. It also will depend on what you are looking for in schools. Do you have children? What ages? Are they involved in sports or have desires of making the high school team? Are you a golfer? What size yard do you need or want?

I would suggest taking a close look at Allen. I live in the area of Plano/Allen. If you are going to have to commute into Dallas, Plano is closer and McKinney is further north. All three communities offer good choices depending on your personal needs. What are some of your "must have" such as commuting?

Thanks for the post. I am a newbie golfer, eager to golf more. Kids are 4, 2 and 1. We are trying to get settled with our entire lives before the oldest hits school (where to live, what to do, blah, blah, blah..) I have no idea what sort of yard I need - big enough for touch football, but small enough I can mow it in under an hour? Maybe 30 minutes or so for commute?

i wouldn't mind some recommendations also. I've been looking at west plano but cost has pushed me to look, and caught my eye is Allen (west of 75 and south of 121)

although, I'm guessing for a new construction home I wouldn't need one. there are still some fairly new homes i'm assumming

With new construction you should have a real good agent that knows the good builders from the bad. Many are on the verge of severe financial problems.

They can help you with finding the best home, inspections and with the good builders will not cost you a penny. Builders figure the expense in their marketing budget and it will not effect the cost of your purchase. (maybe save you money)
