Hi,
my husband and I are considering moving to the Dallas area, but looking on city-data's weather chart for Dallas see that it is super windy! Right now we live in a semi-windy city (sausalito, ca) and I can't imagine somewhere windier than our worst days here! Are there any less-windy cities near Dallas? (with low crime, nice shcools, etc?)
Thanks

I never thought of this area as being super windy. I do know that in the spring sometimes there can be a huge wind. A few months ago in the spring we went to Texas Motor Speedway and I had never seen it so windy before there and the wind was kicking up dust like crazy. I was so in shock it was that windy, my little boy even had to hold onto his hat. Days like that are a rare and most likely happen in the spring. Some days in the summer, I wish a nice breeze would come, it can be stiffling in the summer from the heat. We haven't broken 100 yet, but I am sure it is around the corner.
Don't worry about the wind.

Hi Stargazer, I went wandering around out there trying to find more info on Mt. Pleasant, and found a forum called [domain blocked due to spam] -dot- net (avoiding trackback) and frankly... it's a tad out. But fun to cherry-bomb! My quest continues... it's really hard to get people to cough up the dirt, know what I mean? "All the apartment complexes are clustered around the clover-leaf and there's a lot of hollering to clean up after your kids, but the cops are real friendly!" I kid. Hope you had a happy 4th!

I can't imagine that any one suburb would be more or less windy than any other... they are all subject to weather fronts from thousands of miles away.
