everything is a trade off here
newer construction usually has smaller lots and fewer trees--unless you are willing to move further out or pay more for larger lot/custom home...

Any feedback on this area in general? Further west along NW Hwy, the area seems to get fairly run-down.
NW Hwy is the boundary between the Park Cities, which is the wealthiest part of Dallas, and Preston Hollow, which is also pretty nice. Further west and south you get close to the Love Field airport, and since no one really wants to live near the airport it's more run down. However, further east you get into a very nice area. You'd be close to North Park Mall, which is on I-75, and also to Preston VIllage, which is at NW Hwy and Preston, and is a great shopping center with a lot of food and shopping options.

Where you are would be fine, but I wouldn't go any further west.
