I have grown up in LH and currently live in the house I grew up in. My parents moved to LH in the 1970's when the RISD was the new up and coming. I live in the Forest/Abrams area right behind Forest Ghetto.
Growing up, I could never figure out why they called this area LH. Only
b/c of the schools/district I guess.

Anyway. it is not safe like it used to be IMO. The Forest/Abrams area is scary (only go to the CVS in the daytime). The Walgreens @ Royal/Abrams recently had an attempted car jacking in broad daylight.
Criminals have gotten really bold around here.

I would RUN from Timberleaf. Yes, they have built new townhomes. That area used to be really gross and yucky. Lots of crime, drugs etc.

if your talking about the row of townhomes that's sitting right next to the apartments...then yeah, too close. you have a super walmart right there on the corner which draws a pretty big crowd of not so high incomed people.

Have you driven around this area yet?

If you're fixated on Abrams+Forest intersection....the closest I would look at would be Whitehurst and below. But really, I'd stay east of skillman and south of Church road.

and I'd have to agree with the above poster....they need to tear down all these run down apartments. It's really turned the area in the wrong direction. 15 years ago, this was a really nice area to be in.
