They're in distress. I just hope they come back to "life" as I'm afraid many trees, shrubs, et al won't make it.

You will love it. Check out my profile photo, one of the pictures I took in February 2010. I am from southern CA and saw very little snow until moving here, a few flakes here and there and snow on the mountains. Texas is great for an nice snowfall, but it doesn't snow every year.

Doesn't it snow at least a couple of times every year in Dallas? Maybe not in Houston/Austin?

I don't remember it doing so every year, but for the past two years, it has especially in 2010.

I can't speak for Dallas specifically having just moved here, but Longview has very similar weather and it snows there every two or three years, and it doesn't always stick. It snowed quite a bit the last two years but the last big snow before that was 1986 I believe.

Last winter we had a ice storm then we got a snow storm a couple of days later. The city was crippled. In 2010 we got a foot of snow. Some parts of the Metroplex got more than a foot.

I would like to take this opportunity to b*tch at least once more. Come on... almost 100 degrees tomorrow? It's just a few days away from October. We broke the record already, so can this hot weather be over with and go back to normal?
