I keep my AC at home at 80-82F in summer regardless of the outdoor temperature. Some thoughtless people here are insisting on keeping their ACs down at 74. It's outrageous and selfish.
HA - I too am sitting in a office for the last what 32 days with a sweater shirt on. Rolling black outs starts with commerical accounts first. I really thing we should take it out on the entire downtown businesses (and other part of the metroplex) that leave their lights on 24/7 and cool their buildings with no one in them before we start yelling at residentail consumers. My ac stays at 75, I don't believe that is outrageous or selfish. But I did laugh at your with your sweater comment.....I don't have a heating pad though.

You don't know what a persons reasoning for keeping their house at a certain temp, so just because you don't do it doesn't mean everyone else is wrong and "selfish". man you are a curmudgeon and I have been here long enough to know it ain't just the heat getting to you...Again, get over yourself.

No, I said "Average High".... its not talking about the average temperature of the day.

Its called "Average" because its the average high temperature for the day over the years.

I didn't say it was average of a day. I mean a few years ago, it could have been a high, of say 80, which is low. Now, it's 110, which is high. So the average of those two highs is 95. So we have an "average high" of 95.

I've got my A/C turned down to 58 degrees and opened the refrigerator and freezer doors...then I opened all the windows and doors in the house. Now I've got all these little birds and critters gathering around my house. I'm told by neighbors the police are on the way!

The blackouts only last a few minutes. It's not like your house can hit 100 in that time. I really don't see how they'll help much since when they turn it back on, all the air conditioners are going to be running to make up for it.

If I lose my air conditioner, I plan on staying somewhere else.
