Hello?

It is the internet. Anybody can claim anything.

If you are new to the concept, I am sure you will get used to it over time.

Meanwhile, back in the land of Johnny Can't Read, But He Sue Can Run With The Ball . . . .

I am asserting that schools with low performing students and high performing sports programs have misplaced priorities.

Prosper is running at "Recognized," so by Texas standards that is not too bad.

Good for Prosper! I wish them success. I think it was a smart move on their part to anticipate future growth.

We have a spiffy $16 million stadium (that I voted against) built for a team that won precisely one game last year. Meanwhile we have schools that don't have enough textbooks for all the students.

Want proof that misplaced priorities and wasting money on needless athletic perks have a direct impact on education (the sole freaking reason kids are in school), there you go.

I for one wouldn't mind if public funding for elementary and secondary athletics was abolished completely. You wanna play, let the boosters fund it themselves.

First of all Prosper district with an indoor facility and for the record the small old school also had an indoor facility. I would say pull the SAT scores for each school before you judge.

Wow, its pretty sad that the suburbs are able to afford such a grandiose school, and us kids in Dallas barely have enough textbooks. But I find it pretty funny how the school building itself doesn't look that big, it just has all that extra sporting areas. My school, Sunset High, looks bigger and it sits on a .4 acre block. Hah!

Go Bisons!

I was wondering, do the parents have to supply the Kleenex, toilet tissue, glue, paperclips, crayons and the rest of the items on the lists for the beginning of the year?

As long as the football stadium is there then that's OK. As much as I think the stadiums for HS football is on e of the craziest thing I ever seen, children - yes children - dying on the practice field is crazier. Why do parents put up with that? Why aren't they protecting their children from this abuse??
