Has anyone given their kids the H1N1 vaccine? I plan on vaccinating my kids, even though im alittle worried about it. were there any side effects?

I have heard some doctors say the vaccine is safe and some warn that not enough is known about the vaccine and that it was rushed to market. I would appreciate anybody's experience with this if your kids have already taken the shot

Thinking the same thing here. Really two different things since the h1n1 is a live virus nasal mist.
Wish I could help the OP. None of us have had the mist and we don't plan on it. I'm not crazy about the idea, wasn't crazy about the idea of Flumist even when it first came out.
Daughter (12) did get the seasonal flu vaccine (shot) this year, however.

There are two h1n1 viruses according to wiki. So I am correct.

The influenza vaccine is an annual vaccine to protect against the highly variable influenza virus[1]. Each injected seasonal influenza vaccine contains three influenza viruses-one A (H3N2) virus, one regular seasonal A (H1N1) virus (not the 2009 H1N1 virus), and one B virus.[2]

My doctor's have specified that they are two separate vaccines, but perhaps things are different in different areas.

You are wrong, there is only 1 h1n1 vaccine.

No, they are NOT different in each area. Everyone across the entire country gets the EXACT SAME vaccine be it for the COMMON flu or the H1N1 flu. There is only ONE vaccine for the H1N1 strain of flu. NOT TWO! They are known as the regular flu shot and the H1N1 vaccine. The H1N1 strain has two different strains. The more common one that is found in Type A that is in the seasonal flu shot that was prepared over a year ago and the NEW H1N1 that is coming out this year. It also falls under "type A".

FYI, wiki gets their information from people that contribute. Nothing stopping anyone from putting anything on there even if it is flat out wrong.

That's what I meant by two different vaccines- one for common flu and one for H1N1. The common flu vaccine administered at most drug stores will not vaccinate against the H1N1 strain.
