Hello Everyone,

I have been reading alot of these posts on this website and they have been greatly helpful and so I decided to post (my first one) my own question.

My wife and I relocated from DC/VA area 16 months ago and have been renting a apartment in the Las Colinas area. I must say, we love this area. It is central to both airports, many restaurants and grocery stores close by. Close to major freeways. Close to Dallas downtown, etc. With that being said, we are now looking for a new construction home in Las Colinas area or any other area that is close by like Coppell.

Can anyone suggest a nice place to look for new homes? Affordable. We would like a home between $300K-$350K if possible in this area.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi. There are many new homes available in the Las Colinas area. In the $300's, you'd likely be looking at a townhome, although many of them are beautiful and have excellent ammenities. Coppell is fairly built out, so you have a better chance of finding something around Las Colinas.

As Megan said, Las Colinas is pretty built out and so is Valley Ranch just north. Hackberry has a handful of lots, but usually starting well over the $500k mark for custom builds. You're going to need to go outside the main cities in order to find new construction in your price range.

In Las Colinas it's going to take about $420 to get a good size home. There are a few that are 1-2 years old that you could get in the $370-390k range.

In Coppell, anything new will cost you at least $450 to $550 for new.

In the $300-400K price range about the closest you can get is Castle Hills or Lantana.

It depends on what you are looking for. You can get a new construction home at Riverside Village in Las Colinas for 350K but the yard would be small.

will PM you a great MLS search site with homes across the metroplex

do some searching and see what grabs your attention
there are new construction as well as older homes just a few years old--right now I think those would be your best bargaining point since there could be some foreclosures in the mix or people who need to sell for hardship reasons and in a slow market you could get a good deal...
