I have not been to the Rusty but I drive by there quite a bit and its usually full. I heard through the grapevine that they sold out of food when it opened. I believe Fuzzy is coming to Hillside Village at Mockingbird and Abrams. My favorite anglo-ized taco place is on Peak: Home: Taco Joint - Dallas, TX - (214)826-TACO (http://thetacojoint.com/default.aspx - broken link)

Choose the one with the cheapest fixed rate. Are you bound by the lease to only pick between those 2?

I'm not sure those are just the only two companies that are on there. Do you know of a better company that I should try? I'm also unfamiliar with the fixed rate thing. In my house in MI we were charged based on how much energy was used does the fixed rate mean my bill will be the same each month regardless of the amount of energy used?

No a fixed rate means you will will be locked into per kilowatt rate for anywhere between 6 months to 2 years. Summer is the worse time to lock into a rate because usually the higher rates are all that is availiable. I suggest you sign a short contract 3-6 months sign a longer term deal during the cool months when the rates are much cheaper.

Are the apts at the Village still on a commercial rate? That was the case when I lived there and it was better than the residential rates.

Some apartments in the village do have the commercial rate like the meadow where my boyfriend is now paid his utilities with his rent but for some reason you have to do residential rates for northbridge... I just did a month to month plan with variable rate and got 10.8 cents as the rate. I went with Reliant. Does anyone know if that is avg. way over avg or a good rate? To me it seems pretty expensive but I live in a small MI town so I guess I need to prepare myself for everything to cost more in a big city.

Isn't Northbridge one of the newer complexes. I think it is across Southwestern from The Lakes. It might be noisy from being so close to Northwest HWY and Skillman, if it is the complex I am thinking about. That side at the time I lived there was a little too close to the hood that was on the other side of Northwest HWY. The meadow is one of the older complexes. I am sure Northbridge is going to be nicer. I lived in The Chase and another time, The Park. Both older complexes and at commercial rates. When I lived in the Chase( 1993-95?), my apartment was on the first floor and faced East, so I didn't get any sun on the west side, and I was insulated by other apartments on all other walls and ceiling. I had some bills that were below $10. I lived in the Park for a few years until 2004 in an upstairs unit with a south and east exposure. Electricity bills were in the $50-70 range but they had started including trash and water. One thing about the Village - they take care of you. If you had a problem with the apartment, like plumbing or an appliance, they usually had it fixed the next day. And you can't beat the location. If you are a cyclist the lake is a mecca. I could ride to the lake in 10 minutes. If you are a runner, unofficial events occur every saturday morning. You will have easy access to, Lakewood, Uptown, Addison, Downtown.
