Thought it would make more sense than seperate threads. The latest news this week:

Rich Wirdzek at WHIO resigned weeks ago. His FB page confirmed such yesterday. No word on why, but I think we all got a pretty good idea of why. Let's say he was probably passed up for the chief position after Kitesailer Simpson resigned

Chris Mulcahy at WKEF/WRGT was FIRED effective last Sunday. I have no further information, but do have that much from a contact at the station. He has been edited out of the tv ads and his bio is deleted from their site.

Good idea. Include at least the print media as well. All communications would be best.

Neat thread idea, especially if we start digging up info on past TV shows (if anyone here remembers back to the days when Dayton had locally-made shows).

That is too bad about Rich Wirdzek. I would hope that he'd go over to ABC 22, but given the fact that the station's broadcasts are only slightly better than what your average third grader could do, for his career and happiness I'm sure he won't take that path.

Maybe Wilmington will need a new meterologist at the big weather bureau there?

I remember those days, Dr. Creep on channel 22 back in the 70s, sadly he died about 5 years ago.

Met her in person at the Dayton Skywarn meeting last month. Very nice young lady! And she had her dad and "main man" with her. Sorry guys, the boyfriend goes to UC and they look happy together. Not a chance in hell of her being on the market much longer

Gil Whitney footage brought out of the mothballs yesterday for the 1974 tornado. Ya know, for the early 70s, Gil was way ahead of everyone else on reading radar and forecasting. I'm not sure why the man never obtained a meteorology degree, but he didn't need one, really

They're trying him out on a two month trial. What a Monday morning wake up today. We went from some happy little kid talking nonsense to a retread drunk trying to act like a little kid talking nonsense.

Have to admit I laughed, and it kept me watching for 1 minute longer than usual. 7:02 I switched over to baseball highlights.

Well, Jamie Simpson is the best person that news team will ever hope to get. Hopefully he alone will be able to bring the level of competence at that news station up from its current level (rabid meth addict trying to shout news). What a great weatherman on what is a horrible station.
