I understand "Patterson Village" is a fairly nice, quiet apartment complex in Oakwood near UD. Anyone have any info they could share about that?

Thanks!

I've biked past this complex plenty of times on my way from Beavercreek to Oakwood and I've always felt safe (from crime, not the drivers) when doing so. I imagine that many of the residents are UD students, gradutate and undergrads, as well as young professionals.

The only thing is that the complex is actually in Dayton, not Oakwood. But this is ok if you don't have to worry about sending children to public schools, and the neighborhood, Patterson Park, is a rather quiet and safe place. It does, however, border Oakwood on the west side of the complex.

It's probably okay. The best way to know is to drive through in or sit in the parking lot on a Friday and Saturday night, after dark. If you see a lot of shady characters or feel uncomfortable, then it's probably not the place for you. It seems okay during the day, but I've never walked around there at night.

That said, it's not really near UD. It'd probably be a 20 minute walk to UD, and it's in a blue collar/pink collar section of Dayton, not really in a student-friendly area.

Patterson Village Drive Dayton Ohio - Google Maps

As noted, not that close to UD. The area in general is nice but I'm not familiar with the complex. The advice in the above thread is REALLY good. If you can, go there at different hours/days and see what you think. Some apartment complexes can look really nice and have major issues.
