Hell all,

I am going to be interviewing for a job with the Metro Park system and if I would get the job its going to be a quick move. Therefore I need some quick advise about good areas to rent in. I am getting married this summer and I am I nervous for her and want to make sure we are in a safe area. Any suggestions? The physical address I would be working at is 224 N. St. Clair St., Dayton, Ohio 45402, if possible I would like to be within road biking distance (10 miles). Things such as school areas not so important because we don't expect kids maybe that helps. I really just want a safe place to live that is affordable.

Thanks

For apartments, check out First Place and The Landing (both downtown and within walking distance to your new work). If you want a house then check out McPherson Town (just on the other side of the river) - I know a few MetroParks staff that own houses there and love it. A little further away but still an easy bike ride is the Dayton Towers (Fifth and Keowee) - might be a bit cheaper than the first two I mentioned but I know a couple of different people living there that seem to enjoy it, plus it is walking distance to the Oregon District.

For more specific questions, you can also try DMM Forum - Index | Dayton MostMetro (http://www.DaytonMostMetro.com/forum - broken link) - lots of well-informed and helpful people there.

Good luck!

South Park is a transitional neighborhood that has some nice houses in it. Also check out the St. Clair Lofts and the Cannery. If you want a more suburban feel while staying the the city check out the Patterson Park area. Are you in Ohio now? What kind of budget to you have?
