8-hour days? How nice! Do you have shorter lunch hours now or what?
My company offers the 9/80...work 9 hours Monday-Thursday and have every other Friday off. We work 8 hours on the Fridays we're there and it's so nice to get off "early" on those days. My company also offers flex hours. I used to work 8-6 but now I work 6:30-4:30 (3:30 on Fridays). I'm definitely NOT a morning person, but it's truly not any harder to get to work at 6:30 than it was at 8:00. And I love getting off so much earlier.
And, yes, I'm "lucky" to be retiring. I had always hoped to work until I was 66 but decided that wasnt the right thing for me any longer. I've been working 43 years, longer than most of my co-workers have been alive. When some of those kids hear how many years I've been working, their eyes get huge...
