Try throwing down some winter rye next winter. It comes up fast, doesn't need much watering and just grows and grows and grows! Hubby says it's like a *#@%!! chia pet!!!! Lol. It's soooo pretty and green!! But you do have to cut it about once a week and it looks like confetti in the mower!! But it hates hot weather, so it will just turn brown and die in the summer. Then you replant it next year. I put it down in the dogs yard. They love it!!
I have winter rye grass seed put down in Oct-Nov every year. I love how it looks in the winter! But this year we've had no rain (about 5 minutes' worth since June) so a lot of the rye died. My area has been in a drought for two years now and no relief in sight.

That's so sad. Even the ity bitty amount of rain has been enough for our rye. Hubby has to cut it once a week. I was looking at the yard yesterday and i have Bluebonnets coming up EVERYWHERE again!!!!

Well, rats. If you google my former User Name, it cross-references to this new one. Oh well, maybe in time that wont happen.
Camper, I've had a stalker who apparently keeps tabs on me by googling my former User Name. I'm hoping that eventually this name change will stop that.
