Many of you may know of this but if you want a good deal for your money, check out Welcome*- Angel Food Ministries . I helped with this food distribution a few months back at my brother's church and couldn't believe what all you get! The basic package is $30. Go to the website and click on this month's menu in the gold box on the right of the page. 4-6 oz. ribeyes, 3 lb. of split chicken breasts and the pound of boneless pork chops would take care of that $30. Check to see what's on the menu each month, then put in your zip code to see where the nearest distribution point is and the schedule. This has nothing to do with low income. You could have a 6 figure income and still order this food. It has plenty to do with people wanting a bargain and the money goes to help others. Check it out!

Glory, I just went and picked up our package. Bet I wasn't in there 2 minutes! Walked in, they took my sheet showing my info, and two men made the round of the tables getting my package together, then they carried it to the car for me! It all fit in my laundry basket. Already got the menu for next month. It looks good too! I may see about getting the meat grill box. 1.5 lb of bone in NY strip steaks, 2 lb of baby back pork ribs (THATS what I want! lol), 2 lb lean hamburger steaks, and 1.5 lb of Italian sausage with cheese, all for $23.

Not to be a downer, but re the all-meat package.
I looked at that also, since I've been a low-carber for years. Then I did the math.

It's 7 pounds of meat. Works out to just under $3.30 a pound. I can do better buying stuff on sale.

Your mileage may vary though

I planned to go today, but then the weather was so nasty. Do you need to call in advance? I sure would like to go early on in the week. Just the convenience alone of the menus....along with the needed food items....is really worth it to me.

I was looking at this for the December and January month and it does not seem like they are putting as much in there anymore... what do you guys think?
