^^^This. We relo'd from NY last March and never looked back. We settled in Rehoboth and between volunteering and community activities we have never been busier. We love the beach and have had company all summer long. We are just a couple of years older than you and there is truly something for everyone here.

Most retirees moving to Delaware, I've met or have talked with, are apprehensive about their move, and feel "safer" moving into 55+ communities with other transplants. It's a known fact, that predominantly, 55+ communities have very few locals/natives of Delaware. The camaraderie of living around other transplants seems to be an attraction for these types of communities, having activity directors, planned trips, bocce tournaments, and community pot-lucks.

This pretty much describes my feelings about 55+ communities. It is what some folks want. Not what interests me. Maybe when I get older. Right now I am only mid 70s.
