I've to move to Delaware for work! I will be working in Dover AFB. Moving from Alexandria, Virgina. This is my first time big move on my own. I'm a single mother, need child care/nanny support plus good school district. Daughter 8yrs old, going to third grade, so looking good elementary/ middle school dist. Also, I'm a big city person, love to stay where everything is nearby. Will rent at this time, looking for renting townhomes, in good school dist, not too bad of a commute to Dover AFB on daily basis, also can have access of either hiring people or before/after school day care etc. It's a lot to ask...I've been studying the forums.

Now, pinpointed to either Ceaser Rodney school district, Kent county; which is a good school dist and close to base; so, not much commute everyday! BUT... Not sure if that area is middle of nowhere, or, easy to hire trustworthy people for childcare, things around, houses are they newer constructions with trees or kind a vacant looking or older structures?

Next choice is Middletown, + point: good school district, big town, should be easy to hire help....negative side to consider: how bad of a commute it will be to do on every day basis? I know it's thirty miles roughly each way from base but is it a fairly easy commute or stop & go type commute? Where usually people who work near Dover live? Is it transplant friendly town?

Can some one please please advice....truly confused where to concentrate to stay here!!? Also it seems like it's hard to find small compact town homes with lots of storage spaces for rent...most properties are for sale only! Can I find an agent for renting only?

Truly appreciate any advice...just clueless...projected move time middle of December!
