Hi friends.

How are you all doing.

I recently moved to Wilmington DE. I live near concord mall.

I wanted to know a little about he night life of Wilmington.

How good or bad it is.

What are the good discos and pubs and party place around (~20 miles radius).

Hmm. I guess it depends on what your scene is.

West Chester must be within 20 miles of Concord Pike - lots of college bars there.

There are a couple of good gastro pubs in North Wilmington: Two Stones on Naaman's Rd., and Ulysses where Marsh & Silverside intersect.

In Wilmington, there's a nice jazz bar with a chill vibe at 8th & Orange: The Nomad Bar. There's the Trolley Square Tap House in Trolley Square, and several other bars there: Logan House, Catherine Rooney's, Scratch Magoo's, The Del Rose (I think it's something else now, though...), Hummingbird to Mars (pseudo "speak easy").

There's more of a hip-hop club at 9th & Orange, don't know what it's called - 9th Street Lounge, maybe?

There are a few restaurants at the riverfront, some with nice outdoor decks.

A few other bars downtown: Mikimoto's, Washington Street Ale House, Ernest & Scott Taproom, Deep Blue, Chelsea Tavern, some others.

For music, there's the World Cafe Live at the Queen Theatre, Arden Gild Hall (north Wilmington), Grand Opera House, Baby Grand, The Playhouse on Rodney Square (occasional rock shows like Neutral Milk Hotel, mostly touring Broadway shows). Smaller bars featuring local bands: 1984 and The Oddity Bar.

If you're looking for house music kind of nightclubs, you'll have to go into Philly, but it's only a 35 minute drive from North Wilmington. And you pretty much have your pick.

Welcome!
