Happy 4 ofJuly everyone, hope everyone enjoys it!

Where will you be watching fireworks if you plan to? This will be my first time watching fireworks here and I'm torn as to where to go..

I've been wanting to go to the beach or Philly but that's just not going to be possible this year. So, I've opted with either Newark or Wilmington. Which has the better fireworks show and activities/vendors? I'd also like to catch a bite to eat.

The "main" fireworks at the Delaware beaches (Rehoboth Beach) were Sunday night July 3rd. Looks like Phila is set for a big celebration!

For the first time since we are here we elected not to go. It was such a damp day that I actually put on a sweatshirt at one point, so we decided to skip it. We thought about trying Dewey tonight, but it sounds like it might be raining.

Happy Birthday America!!!

We can view the fireworks from our back yard, a couple miles from Legislative Mall in Dover where they have a big "to do" every year. We'll know they're started when our t.v. viewing is interrupted by some loud boom noises. I started going to fireworks displays when I was One....my mother told me. At age 76, ....... the fireworks have LOST THEIR GLOW!

In my first apartment, which was a prewar brick building on the edge of a river. They use to set a barge up with shells and shoot them from there. We would go up on the roof and have a big July 4th party all day and close the night out watching the fireworks and feeling the percussion from maybe a two football field distance. We had the fire dept. on the roof with us in the event of a misfire or shell drift. Since that they are a little different for us too.

Dover's fireworks got cancelled, along with the 2 p.m. parade and festivities scheduled for today.

Either they are not the same or we have aged. Not sure which that could be.

Nah.......we haven't aged! Impossible!
It's the crowds, the kids out of control, the parking issues, the wait, and wait, and wait.....and then it's OVER!
