Are there any good old style wood smoking BBQ joints in the DE. Pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, beef brisket. Anywhere in the state.

Thanks

Thanks grouse -

Actually I am very good with a smoker. That is why I was asking the question. Over 20 years.

Thinking Dover area.

I haven't eaten there, but hear that Meat Mechanics, at the Camden/Wyoming firehouse is very good. There is a large smoker outside.

During the summer months around Kent County, I've seen many smokers/BBQ setups, up and down Route 13. Some of them look questionable to me. I wouldn't trust how long that stuff has been cookin', and they move from corner to corner in front of shopping centers and strip centers, almost weekly. Greenwood Fire Company sells pulled pork, not every day or every week, just some times, and I've seen smokers out there in their parking lot. I'd trust them. I'm not in to that stuff, but Where Pigs Fly has been in business in Dover for a long, long time,. Everybody I know who's in to that, goes there, and they also have a catering business, bringing smokers to your site.

There is a place about to open here called Chaps. I hear they have a few places and some of my neighbors are familiar with them and are waiting for the grand opening. I don't know anything about them, but as I said many here from the Baltimore- DC area are looking forward to theopening.

Hello,

In Lewes on ALT RTE 9, Savannah Rd, there's a gas station that has a larger than usual
food shop (I wouldn't call it a restaurant) that serves fried chicken, deli sandwiches, potato
salad, etc. In the summer they have one of those very large smokers on a trailer on the
lot and they have some pretty good barbecue.

It's past Cape Henlopen High School. I believe it is at 1141 Savannah Rd (Alternate RTE 9).
I've had some a number of times on the way back from Lewes beach.
