What are the best restaurants in Dover? The best seafood, the best pizza, best coffee shops, best donuts, and just good eats? I don't mind hearing about other restaurants in the surrounding area, too Thanks.

McGlynn's - Ribs, burgers, Nachos....good food in general. Sports bar type atmosphere.
Vincenzo's - Italian (They are now in their new location in the old TD Bank on Rte 8)
Restaurant 55 - Burgers

Michele's in Dover Downs in good for steak and seafood, but pricey.

Grotto Pizza has been named best pizza for several years, but I find that pizza tastes really vary. Other's like chain pizza. We have a Pie Five that I find pretty good and decent prices. Frederica Pizza is good, especially their margharita pizza. DiMeo is also good (between Dover and Smyrna).

I don't drink coffee, but we do have 2 Starbucks locations. Also have several Dunkin Donuts.

If you want some really good omelets/breakfast type food try Speedway Café. We have found it is so underused because of it's looks, but the greatest breakfast foods and very reasonably priced. Great servers, too. They serve breakfast all day.

Best dessert, IMHO, is Bavarian Bakery across from Ollie's. I have heard the sandwich's are good, but haven't tried.

I agree that Mission BBQ is good. A lot of people liked When Pigs Fly, but I wasn't fond. It's closed now anyhow. Mission is military themed and I believe was started by retired military personnel. Make sure to sign up for their "club" and you will get a free entrée on your birthday. I like that you can get just the meat instead of a sandwich as I am on a low carb diet.

And.........soon to open is Red Robin. YIPPEE!! About time. Of course we have the standard chains of Applebee's, Outback, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn (I have found to really like them), IHOP, Bob Evans and the fast food places. There is also a Texas Roadhouse down in Camden which is good, along with another Applebee's. Unfortunately if you want Ruby Tuesday you have to go to Milford. There is a Cheddar's in the same complex which a lot of people like but frankly I have been there 3 times and have never had a good meal. I'm not sure how someone could screw up a club sandwich, but they did. So 3 strikes and you're out!

Thanks for the tip on the club sign up. You will get a free sandwich with the welcome email and I had to go back for my free chopped brisket sandwich.
