Hi, everybody!

I would like to know if the area near the Doubletree Wilmington on King St is safe?

I wanna know the same thing about the area near Frawley Stadium.

Is it a far walk from the Doubletree Wilmington to Frawley Stadium?

Frawley Stadium is safe - there's almost no residences around there. Just parking lots, restaurants, and shops.

King street is different. King St. is alright minus the couple wandering crackheads or panhandlers at night. However, if you go 2 blocks east from King Street you are not in a welcome neighborhood. This goes the same with around 5-6 blocks west.

You can walk from King Street to Frawley no problem safety wise. Just walk down King Street, walk right on Martin Luther King Blvd, make a left on Market Street, and follow the right pathway along the river (before you cross the bridge.) It's actually quite scenic and you can follow that pathway (riverwalk) all the way down the riverfront to Frawley Stadium. It is rougly a 9ish to 10 block walk.

Have fun!

There's a volunteer free escort group if you don't feel safe in downtown Wilmington at night. I used them a few times when i worked extremely laote and missed the shuttle to my parking lot. as for getting to Dover there is a fairly inexpensive public transit bus you can get near the Amtrak station or christiana mall. It's more like a greyhound or charter with big cushy seats. I get disabled fares so i don't know howuch the regular is, other than its way cheaper than driving.

I used to work in the Metlife building which is about a block away from the doubletree, it is near a lot of large businesses/restaurants so it is not too bad

Just an FYI before anyone else jumps in.... This thread was started in 2008. Hopefully, the OP got home safely from Frawley stadium!
