to Newark, DE.

Am looking around for places to relocate from the South back to the Northeast.

The company I work for has an office in Newark, DE.

I am wondering what the possibilities/expected budget would be for a small farmette (5+ acres) with a decent commute into Newark.

Are there riding opportunities in the area? Reasonable housing costs?

I like the idea of this location due to its proximity to DC, Baltimore, NYC, etc without (hopefully), the cost.

You might want to check into the Fair Hill area near Elkton, Maryland in Cecil County. When I think of Fair Hill, I think of horses. Property taxes will be higher in Maryland than Delaware.

Middletown and Townsend (Delaware) has plenty of farmette type properties, and a few riding and horse boarding stables. Farther south, plenty of farmettes around Smyrna and Clayton. I've seen them for a couple hundred thousand, or so, depending on the size home on the land.
