My fiance and I are looking to relocate to Delaware. We are looking in New Castle, Bear, Newark and Wilmington and want to spend less than 130K. We've seen some nice houses in Wilmington, but are unsure about the areas. What are the nicer neighborhoods in Wilmington with decent schools? How is 19802?

City of Wilmington like all cities has a block by block environment - meaning that generalizations based on a zip code are seldom accurate - the choice of price would also determine what the block is like!!

It also depends where you are coming from ... what you are accustomed to ..... there is nothing like an exploration visit/s and let a Realtor - a Buyer's agent - know what your criteria is...... and see -experience - it for yourself.

Experience shows that an important decision like buying a house be made based on one's own perspective and with an open mind rather be guided by the individuals (on the forum) with varied individual perspectives which may not match the Buyer's in real life.

19802 could be a big, victorian home in a rich neighborhood around Salesianum, or it could be a boarded up crackhouse off 22nd and Lamotte streets.

One may consider Washington St. as a divider between bad and good (good being north/west.) Generally north of Washington St. and a couple blocks west of Concord Ave is nice.
