Hi I am 22 years old and have had gingivitis for about 3 years that was always under the same tooth. Ive tried plaque removal and medication but it didnt cure it. I waited this long and didnt look for more solutions because the pain and inflammation of the gums sometimes calmed down and I would forget about it, but it never really goes away.

Right now the tooth becomes shaky if the inflammation is strong or I dont wash my teeth, but when I do wash it the tooth is rigid again. I am terrified that I didnt even reach 25 and already losing teeth....

I guess my question is If I do finally cure gingivitis do teeth attachments and gum heal themselves or is this tooth on its way to fall?

You need to see your dentist again to have the area cleaned out. Your dentist will probably refer you to a periodontist for treatment if the gum area continues to be inflamed and painful.

I am twice your age and have been battling gingivitis and it's ugly cousin periodontal disease for longer then you have been alive. I am winning because I still have all my teeth and have been in a sort of remission for the last 15years. It hasn't been easy as I have had many gum surgeries and see either my dentist or the periodontist every 3 months.

You don't want to go through all I have so get back to the dentist ask about seeing a periodontist and get more treatment. You won't lose your teeth.

Good luck!
