Last night I had a bagel with peanut butter and it seemed to be crunchy. After all was cleared out I noticed like a hole in my tooth. It seems I lost a filling.
I don't think anything is hurting -- but how long can I go before I get it fixed?
Not only am I in-between insurance (though I expect it any day) there are several snow storms over the next few days and I doubt I will be able to get out.

This just happened to me. I lost a little corner of a filling. I have no pain and it took me two weeks to get into the dentist. I just kept the tooth and gum area extra clean the entire time with flossing and water pik after eating. No big deal. I am scheduled to go in a few weeks and get it refilled/repaired. The little corner piece came out when flossing.
I never let dental things go so I would get in as soon as possible and let them at least do an x ray and tell you what is going on with it. You can probably put off the repair for a little while as long as you keep the area extra clean and go easy on chewing with that tooth.
If you can get to the drugstore, you can get some Dentek or whatever they call it to keep the hole filled. It'll come out when you brush, but you can keep putting it in. It helps it feel less sensitive without air and food and liquids in it all day long.
Probably about 15 yrs ago a piece of a molar with a filling broke off, then some filling kept coming out, had to end up with a course of abx and the dentist and his good buddy wanted to do a big job there...,lots of work and money and all these years I've done nothing. I keep the area clean and don't eat on that molar too much and if I get a tad of pain I'll add some myrrh tincture but I haven't touched the myrrh in months. I can live with this ,,,, something is working for me...much gratitude for that.
