Hi., I have badly stained teeth from blueberries, coffe, and tea. Any suggestions that won't damage my teeth? I already use a whitening toothpaste to no avail.

Step one would be to go to a hygienist for a thorough cleaning, and repeat every 6 months. They can scrape a lot of staining away. Then, try a whitening rinse. I use Listerine Healthy White, and it really does work. It may take a while to notice the difference.

Probably need a polish at the dentist office, then your whitening toothpaste should help maintain it.

Thanks, I do get a cleaning every six months. I'll try the listerine product. Thank God I am not single, my teeth are really stained - yech.

Then of course there's that other radical idea...eat/drink less of things that stain your teeth or find substitutes you might enjoy just as much.

If a good cleaning doesn't help, there are whitening procedures available such as NiteWhite and laser whitening.

I used the NiteWhite when it first came out during the 1990s. Back then it was 28% peroxide and did a spectacular job. They later kicked down the concentration to 16% because people were complaining about sensitivity (I never had that issue with the 28%) and they also have a 22% 'boost' concentration. But the newer formulas are different and IMHO they do not work as well as the old 28% stuff. I used the 22% once for a touchup, about 10 years after my first use, and was underwhelmed.

The laser whitening (one trip in a dentist's chair) works well for some people but not everyone. As the saying goes, YMMV.

The key to success when using either of the pro procedures is to stay completely away from any "staining" foods or drinks during the process and for at least a week thereafter. The peroxide opens the pores of your dentin and make your teeth even more prone to staining at that time and until they close up normally again. I waited two weeks after finishing my NiteWhite regimen before eating or drinking anything that wasn't either white or clear. Ate a lot of chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, toast without jelly, etc etc during that period, LOL. This wasn't on any advice from the dentist or anything; it just made sense to me, so that's how I approached it.

Hi Brad70.
You should visit to the dentist to treat stained teeth problems.
Thanks

I have pain in my thigh because I keep stabbing a knife into my thigh. Over and over. Any advice on how to make it less painful when I stab this knife into my thigh?

Drinking coffee, tea, and other beverages may cause tooth stains or tooth discoloration. To prevent this you have to brush, floss and rinse your mouth after drinking that kind of beverages. The second thing is to make a regular dental visit in order to maintain good oral health.
