I just had a loose molar tooth that fell off. I noticed the foul smell was coming from the tooth, not the gum. It's been 3 days and the teeth is still emitting foul smell. What in the tooth can be emitting this smell? The tooth is all bone material, no?
Infection maybe? Does it hurt? And what do you mean, it “fell off”? It came out of the gum? It broke? Does your mouth/breath smell, or the actual tooth that is no longer in your mouth?
What is smelling? If the tooth is out, it can smell because it was rotting. If your mouth still smells, it means you have an infection in your mouth and need to get it looked at ASAP. It means you might have an abscess.

A tooth isn't just composed of bone (but rotting bone smells too). The pulp has decayed and/or died. Bacteria breed. It's going to smell.
LOL, I had a large cavity that must have been coming off the tooth-surface...for years. I could taste and smell a slight rot coming from somewhere in my mouth. One day, while chewing some gum, that failed cavity fully popped-off the tooth, unleashing the full stinking, rotting flavor into my mouth and nostrils. Took about a week of scrubbing to get that area halfway decent and get rid of all the gunk that had built-up under that cavity, bleeeeeech.
"The tooth fell off" usually means the crown broke off due to rotting and the roots are still there and also rotting. You have to get the rest out. It's like a splinter in your hand....no matter how much antibiotics you take or how much you clean it, it will keep festering up until you get it out.
Get rid of the rotten tooth and get an oral check up from a dentist. If the tooth smells that bad that might be some infection in the mouth get it check ASAP.
