I have some gum recession on my front teeth where the root isn't exposed but you can see spacing at the top between my teeth. I went to two different periodontists and they told me that they couldn't perform the regular gum graft in my front teeth because it would affect my smile. I also wasn't a candidate for pinhole surgery because I don't have enough gums for them to pull down. The first periodontist recommended braces but that made no sense to me because braces would make gum recession worse and the spacing is in the top of my teeth.. the second periodontist recommended veneers.. this also doesn't make sense to me because my teeth itself look fine and if I got it, wouldn't my teeth look too high if they were trying to cover the gum recession? My teeth is also pretty big already so they would probably have to shave down a lot to prevent it from looking too big but I think that could affect my smile too. I also don't want veneers.

I read about something called gum contouring and gum regenerative procedure. I might have to find a different periodontist or even go to another state. Anybody had any luck finding someone to fix their gum recession when previous periodontists told you it couldn't be fixed? Btw, I'm already wearing a night guard and getting dental cleanings every 3 months to prevent further gum recession.
