I've had a "film" on the back of my front teeth for 1-2 years. It feel like it extends from the inside of the front teeth to about the middle of the upper palate. I've brought it to the attention of my dentist, and two other dentists in his practice, along with whatever hygienist who cleans my teeth at my 3x year cleaning. The response is always the same -- they cant find anything and, in essence, don't know what I'm talking about. I've even been told its anxiety, or I'm somehow imagining it.

I'm thinking of another dentist, but first --- what could be causing this film? Besides my imagination? Should I see someone other than a dentist? Perhaps a dental specialist? A periodontist? My primary care physician? This condition is very uncomfortable and I'd like some sort of treatment, at least an aknowledgement, other than telling me its all in my imagination

What sort of "discomfort" does this film cause for you? The concept that one exists or what?

It's kind of telling that 4+ oral/dental health professionals haven't found any evidence of this "film" but you keep insisting there is one. Probably the least expensive healthcare provider to ask about this is your PCP. If they can't find any physical evidence of a film either, they can probably refer you to someone who can help you address your obsession with it.
