Bass101, I'm glad your parents were looking out for you, but their fears were not based in reality. If you have ever flown on a plane, you have been exposed to more radiation than a dental xray. Same goes for living at high elevation, or living in homes built with earthen aggregate, such as brick, stone, or concrete. Live in a brick house and you will be exposed to the equivilant of about one dental x-ray per month.

The long story short is, your dental health is worth the miniscule amount of radiation you are exposed to. In order to be exposed to the lowest rate that has been clearly linked to cancer rick, you would need to get 20,000 dental x-rays a year, or one every 25 minutes or so.
