I own a business servicing PCs for home and small office users. I don't have a shop as I travel to where ever the computer is. My wife and I are planning on moving to Denver and are more attracted to the south/southeast suburbs but are far from settling on a final location. My question is what part of town do you thing would be good or bad for my business. Since I'm mobile, I can go anywhere, but I'd prefer not to be 30 miles from most of my customers.

My ideal customer is a home user with kids and a couple of PCs or a small business with a dozen or so PCs. Of course they can't be too knowledgeable about PCs or they wouldn't need me. They need to have enough disposable income to pay to have their computers maintained, but at the same time, I tend to shy away from very wealthy people who are often more of a pain in the ash than they're worth.

When I first started in real estate in 1989, I saw computers in one out of every ten houses. By 1995, I'd say it was one in 6. Unless the house is vacant, I don't think I've seen a house without a computer in 3 or more years.

I would look at where other like businesses are and choose a place that is similar, but not real close.

Then again, once you create a web page and put yourself on the internet...the location of your home base wouldn't much matter.
